Parker's Halloween Class Party

Yesterday Caleb and I went to Parker's class party. Since I am co-chair for the room mom I had to bring some candy to put in the goody haloween cups. It was fun to see all the children hanging out on the playground before we had lunch.
Here is Parker and his new friend Michael.

How cute am I!

Last night, Caleb went to sleep around 8:00 and woke up this morning at 5:30. So I guess he slept through the night again. It has been weeks since he did this and only his 4th time. All week he has been moving the time to wake up later and later. After he nursed this morning he went right back to sleep. I had to wake him up at 8:30 so I could nurse him again before I took Parker to school.
Last week, Caleb and I went to Panera Bread to meet one of my mother's dear friends who was in town for the week seeing her girls at Samford. Here are a few pictures of Caleb waiting for her, he was looking out the window and watching all the cars/people go by.
Here is Caleb sporting his "I love Mommy" shirt. He is so cute and I just love his toothless smiles. It just makes your heart melt to see him smile at you.

What a great weekend!

This weekend we did something totally different as a couple and family. Our friend Jenny who introduced us in college has a construction company and has started a local ministry to feed & clothe the needy in Birmingham. She and I have been hanging out again and it is so good to reconnect with old friends. We used to hang out as married couples years ago, but once the kids started coming we just got too busy. Anyways she has asked for help with taking food to families around Birmingham once a month. They are doing the Angel Food Ministry and asking anybody to go online and order a box of food and put it towards the GKC (their company) mission. They have been getting names of families from people who know they need the food. So this past Saturday morning was our first time to take food to 3 families. Parker was really into this as well and enjoyed getting out of the car with us to take them food. The first family was truly shocked that we were there giving them food. You could tell that they really needed the food and they couldn't believe that we would coming on there door to give them food. David and I really enjoyed doing this new ministry together and look forward to many more months of this.
In the afternoon we got out in the yard again together and did some planting and cleaning out the garden beds. This is something that we both enjoy and love to see what we have planted grow. Parker was a big help along side us and loved taking his Gator around the yard with flowers.
That night we had a date night and instead of hiring a babysitter like we have been doing lately we had some good friends of ours take the boys. We are each going to take turns taking care of our kids so we can out and not have to pay for a sitter. This will be great for all of us and the kids have so much fun together.
David and I enjoyed getting out of the house to have dinner as a couple and then spend some time shopping for the boys for Christmas ideas. It was so nice to not have our names constantly being called or having to do something for them. We got to focus on just us. Love date nights with my hubby.
Here are some cute pictures of the boys this weekend. Enjoy!

Too cute!
I am so blessed to have 2 wonderful boys and a great husband. Seeing them play together, the laughter and just being with them just makes me so happy and proud to have them in my life. God has truly Blessed David and I with 2 amazing little boys.

Afternoon at Aldridge Gardens

Since I still wasn't up to getting out of the house all that much because of the surgery David and I decided instead of going on our weekly date we decided to go out with the boys. We made our way over to Alderidge Gardens. When we first lived in Birmingham, our apartment was just down the street from this Garden. It was actually someone's house and property. Years ago, the guy donated it to the City of Hoover and made it into a Garden for the public. It has been a long time ago that David and I walked around the lake together (pretty sure it was per kids). Anyways it was a really enjoyable and romantic afternoon with my hubby and two sweet little boys. They had the scarecrow contest all around the gardens, so it was fun to see what people made up. Parker enjoyed being the photographer for the afternoon. Over the years David and I have loved gardening together and looking at plants. Going around the gardens it gave us great ideas for around our house. A lot of our plants need to be split this year and hopefully we can do it soon and figure out more areas around our house for gardens. :) Parker having fun and actually liking to pose for us.

Recovering from my surgery

On Thursday morning, I had surgery every early in the morning. Everything went well and I am recovering very fast. David stayed home with us on Thursday and Friday since I wasn't allowed to lift anything for a few days following my surgery. So thankful that David was here to take care of me and the boys. I was so out of it all day Thursday that I was so glad to have David around. Here are some pictures of our time together this weekend. Parker loves taking pictures.
Daddy got some really good photos of Caleb and boy are they good ones.
So happy playing and he is wearing his " I love Daddy" shirt from Aunt Aimee.
We went to Panera on Friday morning for a late breakfast and got coffee from Starbucks. Parker wanted to take mommy to get a blueberry muffin. Here is Caleb starting out early with his coffee from Starbucks. Too cute! He is making eyes at all the food we put in our mouths and drinks.

Fun moments with the boys

Our boys are so much fun and we just laugh all the time with them. Of course there are times when they get on our nerves.... I finally caught Caleb with his straight lip smile. It is a bit fuzzy but I just love this look that he has been giving us lately. He is also trying to blow through his lips and we are getting high pitch noises from him. Years ago David got a scary mask from his Uncle Andy and has used it off and on to scare the living daylights out of me. Espeically with me reaching over to kiss him goodnight in bed and the mask would be on. We have had a lot of laughs over it throughout the years. Well this year Parker has really gotten to liking it as well.
The other night while we were out for our family walk, Parker had to take the mask with him and drive down the street. so I was able to get a picture of him and Caleb with the storm trooper mask on.
Here is a closer look at the scary Parker.
This morning, while I was putting clothes away and picking out an outfit for Parker. Parker was reading a book to Caleb. It was so sweet that I had to run to get the camera and hope to catch this moment. I can see many years of them being the best buds and having fun with each other. Hopefully they won't fight too much.
Hope this brightens up your day like it did for me.
I also was able to go back to my MOMS bible study this week after a long break off. It was great to see everyone and listen to an amazing speaker who is so knowledgable in the word. She has really encouraged me to dig into the Bible and grow closer to the Lord.

Parker's Zoo Fieldtrip

Today was Parker's first field trip and they went to the Zoo. Every child had a parent with them and of course we took Caleb with us. This was Caleb's first visit to a zoo and he did great. Parker, Caleb and I walked around with his friend Ben and his mommy. Ben's mommy and I both went to Samford and were on the same hall our Freshmen year. Small world how our boys are now in school together.
We walked around the whole zoo for a few hours and then met outside for a picnic lunch with everyone. It was so much fun to see the kids talk and play together and the parents get to know each other. I really enjoyed doing this with Parker and I look forward to doing more of this in the coming years. Caleb in front of the Giraffee area.

Parker loved being a Giraffee today.
Parker wanted to sit several rows ahead of Caleb and I with his buddy Ben. Then right before the train started to go, he started to cry and want to sit with me. So Ben's mommy (who is pregnant) had to get out really fast and pass him back to me before the train took off.
Caleb and Mommy on the train. Parker didn't want to sit with us when this picture was taken.
Parker and his buddy Carter. They had fun hanging out at lunch time.
Lana Kate and Parker sitting together on the cooler. I asked Parker if he wanted to go yet and he told me no that he was talking to Lana Kate. Is this his girlfriend? Not sure but he has a lot of friends in the class that all wanted to sit by him at lunch. Too cute to see him talk with his friends.

Caleb's 4 month check up

Just wanted to update the family and friends on how our little guy is growing.
He got 4 shots yesterday and he weighed in at 17 pounds 12.5 oz. (which is a whole pound more than Parker at this age). He was also 26-3/4" long (1" more than Parker). Caleb grew 3-1/2 inches in the last 2 months. The doctor was so shocked that he grew that much. So let's just say that is a lot like Daddy with his height, brown eyes and longer face.
So wonder why the 3-6 months clothes don't fit and we have to move onto the 6-12 month clothes.
Today I was a substitute teacher at Parker's school for the movement class. I was worn out teaching 6 classes of moving around. What a workout. Caleb was in the babies class and loved it. Tomorrow I will be going on my first field trip with Parker to the Zoo. So stayed tuned for pictures of our class field trip. I am so lucky and honored to be able to stay home with our boys and do things like this with their school.

4 months old

Caleb is 4 months today. WOW we have come a long way. He is already out of the 6 months clothes and moving into the 6-12 months clothes. I was looking through the tubs of clothes from the sisters and was thankful to find 6-12 months fall/winter clothes. The outfits that fit Parker are too small for Caleb. So thank you to the sisters for the clothes, what a blessing.
What has Caleb been up to...
Caleb is thinking about rolling over, he is moving his hips a lot and we try to show him how to do it. He is becoming more talkative and we are hearing new sounds come out of his mouth. Way to cute to see him getting his personality. On Saturday while I was at my bread show and then a party at night. David took care of the boys for me. They had a lot of fun together and Parker kept telling Daddy that he could take care of Caleb too. So grateful that David could watch them that day so I could promote my business for us.
This weekend we also got Caleb his own monkey and doggie love blankets. Parker had several of these when he was born and we were using a few of them for Caleb. We decided that Caleb needed new soft ones to love on. He is really enjoying them and snuggling with them.
