Caleb is 5 months old

Our sweet little Caleb is 5 months old today. Hard to believe that 5 months ago today I was in the hospital holding this little guy and so blessed with having another boy.
Caleb is now sitting up with support and playing with toys. The toys all go into his mouth, no teeth yet but tons of drool. His smiles and laughs just melt your heart and you can't help but smile back at him. He also enjoys watching whatever Parker is doing. We have also starting to read books to him and he enjoys looking at the pictures and listening to us.
This is a good picture to see how well he smiles at us.

Halloween with the Boys

This weekend we had a fun time celebrating Fall and Halloween. On Friday night our city of Hoover had a hayride, trick and treating and free dinner at one of the parks. We had fun meeting up with one of our college couple friends and their 2 children. We were able to do everything that night before the big rain storm came in.
Then on Saturday we went to a Fall Festival at a church nearby and got more candy, snowcones, funnel cake (I haven't had one of these in years and it was soooo good) and Parker was able to play on blow up toys.
On Saturday night we went out as a family to go trick and treating for about 40 minutes. Caleb was getting fussy and tired of being out there. He didn't like it when the stroller had to stop. So I took him back with me to the house, so we could pass out candy to the tons of children coming around. It was so much fun to see all of the children dressed up. Parker and Daddy had a lot of fun going around the neighborhood in his Gator. They got tons of candy and make back to the house for a water break and to empty their candy buckets.

Parker's Halloween Class Party

Yesterday Caleb and I went to Parker's class party. Since I am co-chair for the room mom I had to bring some candy to put in the goody haloween cups. It was fun to see all the children hanging out on the playground before we had lunch.
Here is Parker and his new friend Michael.

How cute am I!

Last night, Caleb went to sleep around 8:00 and woke up this morning at 5:30. So I guess he slept through the night again. It has been weeks since he did this and only his 4th time. All week he has been moving the time to wake up later and later. After he nursed this morning he went right back to sleep. I had to wake him up at 8:30 so I could nurse him again before I took Parker to school.
Last week, Caleb and I went to Panera Bread to meet one of my mother's dear friends who was in town for the week seeing her girls at Samford. Here are a few pictures of Caleb waiting for her, he was looking out the window and watching all the cars/people go by.
Here is Caleb sporting his "I love Mommy" shirt. He is so cute and I just love his toothless smiles. It just makes your heart melt to see him smile at you.

What a great weekend!

This weekend we did something totally different as a couple and family. Our friend Jenny who introduced us in college has a construction company and has started a local ministry to feed & clothe the needy in Birmingham. She and I have been hanging out again and it is so good to reconnect with old friends. We used to hang out as married couples years ago, but once the kids started coming we just got too busy. Anyways she has asked for help with taking food to families around Birmingham once a month. They are doing the Angel Food Ministry and asking anybody to go online and order a box of food and put it towards the GKC (their company) mission. They have been getting names of families from people who know they need the food. So this past Saturday morning was our first time to take food to 3 families. Parker was really into this as well and enjoyed getting out of the car with us to take them food. The first family was truly shocked that we were there giving them food. You could tell that they really needed the food and they couldn't believe that we would coming on there door to give them food. David and I really enjoyed doing this new ministry together and look forward to many more months of this.
In the afternoon we got out in the yard again together and did some planting and cleaning out the garden beds. This is something that we both enjoy and love to see what we have planted grow. Parker was a big help along side us and loved taking his Gator around the yard with flowers.
That night we had a date night and instead of hiring a babysitter like we have been doing lately we had some good friends of ours take the boys. We are each going to take turns taking care of our kids so we can out and not have to pay for a sitter. This will be great for all of us and the kids have so much fun together.
David and I enjoyed getting out of the house to have dinner as a couple and then spend some time shopping for the boys for Christmas ideas. It was so nice to not have our names constantly being called or having to do something for them. We got to focus on just us. Love date nights with my hubby.
Here are some cute pictures of the boys this weekend. Enjoy!

Too cute!
I am so blessed to have 2 wonderful boys and a great husband. Seeing them play together, the laughter and just being with them just makes me so happy and proud to have them in my life. God has truly Blessed David and I with 2 amazing little boys.

Afternoon at Aldridge Gardens

Since I still wasn't up to getting out of the house all that much because of the surgery David and I decided instead of going on our weekly date we decided to go out with the boys. We made our way over to Alderidge Gardens. When we first lived in Birmingham, our apartment was just down the street from this Garden. It was actually someone's house and property. Years ago, the guy donated it to the City of Hoover and made it into a Garden for the public. It has been a long time ago that David and I walked around the lake together (pretty sure it was per kids). Anyways it was a really enjoyable and romantic afternoon with my hubby and two sweet little boys. They had the scarecrow contest all around the gardens, so it was fun to see what people made up. Parker enjoyed being the photographer for the afternoon. Over the years David and I have loved gardening together and looking at plants. Going around the gardens it gave us great ideas for around our house. A lot of our plants need to be split this year and hopefully we can do it soon and figure out more areas around our house for gardens. :) Parker having fun and actually liking to pose for us.

Recovering from my surgery

On Thursday morning, I had surgery every early in the morning. Everything went well and I am recovering very fast. David stayed home with us on Thursday and Friday since I wasn't allowed to lift anything for a few days following my surgery. So thankful that David was here to take care of me and the boys. I was so out of it all day Thursday that I was so glad to have David around. Here are some pictures of our time together this weekend. Parker loves taking pictures.
Daddy got some really good photos of Caleb and boy are they good ones.
So happy playing and he is wearing his " I love Daddy" shirt from Aunt Aimee.
We went to Panera on Friday morning for a late breakfast and got coffee from Starbucks. Parker wanted to take mommy to get a blueberry muffin. Here is Caleb starting out early with his coffee from Starbucks. Too cute! He is making eyes at all the food we put in our mouths and drinks.
