Nesting has begun!!

Okay I must be nesting already. Caleb's closet is now organized with all the boy clothes from 0 months- 2T in tubs for easy access when we are ready for them.

These next 11 weeks are not going to be fun with the acid reflux already full blown and not sleeping well at night. I just pray that I will make it through this time. Parker is so sweet to Caleb already. He kisses and rubs my belly all the time and tells us that it is his Caleb, his best bud. We are thrilled to be having two boys in the family. They are going to be playmates one day when Caleb is old enough. One day, Parker told me that Caleb was going to come out as big and him. I sure hope not, that would be a big baby to be the size of Parker.

Two years ago we bought some antique rod iron furniture that retro flower pattern on them. I have been anxious to get new cushions and fabric. So David has been nice enough to let me use some of our tax return to make new ones. I got a quote last week from a past client of mine, but it was way too high. So I have decided to make the cushions myself. I have 10 of them to make by the time Caleb comes into this world. It is my goal to have a nice place to sit outside this summer with the boys.

Here is a picture of what our lovely old fabric sofa/chairs look like today. Once the cushions are done the rod iron painted white, I will post more picutres of them.

Third times a charm at the Beach

For Parker's spring break we went down to the beach as a family to stay with my parents. Parker now thinks my parents have a place at the beach and that we are to go there a lot of times. Parker and Daddy swimming in the big pool at the club. We had so much fun and I enjoyed relaxing and getting a tan.
Daddy and Parker went out to the sandbar to look for shells and sand dollars (or sea dollars is what Parker called them).

Parker looking really cool in his sunglasses. He never wants to wear them when we are home, but he decided that the sun was too bright so these helped him see better.

Daddy wanted to take Parker on the go-karts. Parker didn't let us forget to do this and really enjoyed riding along with Daddy. He wants to do it again with Daddy. So I think next year this will happen again.
Daddy and Parker getting ready to ride their first go-kart together.

Beach Time

Parker loved the pools and hot tub outside. The pool wasn't heated, so he only put his feet in and would run back to the hot tub. I bought him Lighting McQueen goggles and he loved wearing them at the pool.
Parker loved kicking up the water in this tide pool.

Finally a pose with Parker and Mommy (and Caleb). It is always hard to get Parker to look at the camera.

Daddy and Parker at the Mardis Gras parade in Orange Beach. It was very tame and very kid friendly. We got a lot of beads.

Parker running back towards me to dry him off. It was so cold this day, but he wanted to be in the water at the beach.

Sick Parker

This has been a very rough week (last 4 days). Parker got sick on Saturday night with croup again while we were at the beach. He then kept us up for 3 nights in a row with the bad coughing fits and fever. I took him to the doctor on Tuesday and there isn't much more that they could do for him. It just has to run it's course. Since Parker has been by my side all day and night, I am exhausted and was a bit crabby on Tuesday night. Last night, Parker started getting a rash on his face and it was spreading to his tummy and legs by bed time. This morning he woke up and had a fever again and was so red all over with bumps. Of course I called the doctor's office again and they to wait until Thursday to see if his fever was down. Well I called back this afternoon, since the rash was getting worse even with taking Bendrayl all night/day. They were able to see me right away and it was Hives. We think he is now allergic to pencillian. He was taking it for a clogged tear duct for the last 10 days. So now I feel so much better that we know what the rash is and hopefully we will soon have our normal happy son back.
This was a picture at a friend's birthday party a few weeks ago. I will post some beach pictures soon. Parker had so much fun at beach jumping the waves with Daddy.

Daddy's birthday

Parker wanted to make Daddy cupcakes for his birthday. I thought Parker was going to help me, but no way. So after dinner it was time to sing Happy Birthday and blow out the candle. Well Parker wanted to be right next to daddy and help. My two boys for now, until Caleb joins us in 4 months.
Parker wanted to add more candles on the cupcakes, so we did and he enjoyed blowing them out. Then of course licking the chocolate off the candles and then dipping his fork into the icing. When is my cake going to be made? Well I am making my favorite strawberry Birthday cake on Sunday, just in time for my parents to come and emjoy a few slices of the cake.

Circus

A few weeks ago we took Parker to see the circus in town. This was mine first time as well as Parker's. It was a long show and I was so uncomfortable sitting in the seats for over 2 hours. Parker seemed to like the animals the best and the clowns doing funny stuff. Parker running back towards our seats after visiting the pre-preformance show.
The elephants performing for us. Parker really liked seeing the animals. He didn't like all the performing stuff and I don't blame him. They did a lot of it.

Dinner at Davenport's Pizza Place before the circus. We all love to eat their pizza.

Being Silly at Bathtime

Parker couldn't wait to take a bath tonight. We got new bubbles for the bath that was in a car. So right after dinner we headed upstairs for bathtime. It has been a long time since we had bubbles in the tub. So Parker really enjoyed putting the bubbles on his chin and saying he was Santa Claus. Parker spent a lot of time in the tub tonight playing first with the bubbles and then his car. Ho, Ho, Ho
Our little Santa Claus!
Last week before bathtime Parker thought it was fun to sit in the baby bumbo seat with his Indian hat from school along with his nerf gun. Too cute. He loves to make us laugh and have fun with him.
